Senior Citizens Programs

Myths about senior citizens include the assumption that they are no longer capable of being productive, that they are not socially aware or active, and that they are disengaged from life. The truth is that most seniors retain the ability for creativity and critical thinking well into advanced age. The key to maintaining and extending these capabilities is an active engagement with life. The Touchstones Program for Seniors is designed to provide regular, lively, relevant, and stimulating discussions among senior citizens. Through engaging in discussions, older persons are able to connect in stimulating new ways, examine their opinions and thoughts, and frame current issues within their own life experiences.  Through examining texts of cultural and historical significance seniors stay mentally healthy. They exercise their intellect, create new friendships, and remind themselves of their capacity to contribute to society.

"Our seniors look forward to the intellectual rigor and social stimulation that their weekly Touchstones discussion provides."
