Touchstones Level I Workshop

The open-enrollment workshop introduces teachers to the Touchstones discussion method, which pairs thought-provoking readings and activities with classroom management expertise to build a stimulating and respectful environment for the exchange of ideas and the building of critical thinking and collaborative leadership skills. Touchstones transforms students from passive learners to fully engaged thinkers.

Through Touchstones' structured group inquiry and process evaluation, students build new habits of mind that engender genuine exploration, self-examination and appreciation for diverse perspectives. Touchstones also helps students learn the value of owning their education, as they begin to work together and with the teacher to establish a respectful and inclusive educational environment.

Touchstones Level II Workshop

The Touchstones Level II Workshop is designed for and offered to teachers or practitioners who have hands-on experience implementing Touchstones consistently for at least a full semester. In the workshop, participants will learn advanced strategies for discussion leadership, examine and devise solutions to specific issues that arise in implementation, and evaluate their own skills and progress as discussion leaders. Tools developed through Touchstones research of skills and behaviors critical to successful teacher implementation will allow the participants to consider their skill level on a continuum toward mastery and afford them a specific path for continued development.

Touchstones Level III Workshop

The Touchstones Level III Workshop features participant leadership and individualized coaching from the Touchstones' founder and lead developer. Participants work collaboratively to identify goals for continued development and build individualized plans to accomplish those goals.
